The 2000 Triumph Thunderbird

The 2000 Triumph Thunder Bird 900. I can't say enough good things about this bike. Triumph released the Thunderbird in 1949, and kept in production through 1966. In 1995 it was released again as the Hinckley 900cc Triple and stayed in production until 2004. This 68 horse powerd beauty was considered to be a "standard size bike", because it's wasn't a crusier nor was it a sport bike. During its production, a few varients of the bike were released. The Adventurer, The Legend, and the Sport were all essentially the same bike mechanically, but with different physical apperance. Now, if you go to a Triumph dealer and ask for a Thunderbird they will show you the new 1600cc version of the bike. The physical apperance of the thunderbird has changed drastically. The sleek and retro look of the Thunderbird has evolved into what looks like a modern day Harley. I have spent several riding hours on this bike and love the way it handles, and responds. This 5speed chain driven bike can send you on a comfortable cruise around town. The bike has plenty of power to keep you crusin at a brisk 80mph or faster if need be. If you are familiar with Triumphs, then you know how quiet these bikes are from the factory. I remember when I first started this bike up, I thought I just turned the key to a scooter. There are little to no after market accessories for Triumphs built before 2005. Just a hand full of companys that produce exhaust for this bike. Fortunatly, I got lucky and found a set of original Triumph Performance exhaust for this bike. The performance exhaust had been out of production for about 7 years, and commands a good amount of money on the market. I give this bike a 10 out of 10 on the coolness scale. Test drive one today!.................if you can find one. Cheers.
